Thousands of homeless people are sleeping rough tonight
Your donations provide life‑changing grants to the most vulnerable people in society.
Rebuilding broken lives
We are a small charity that helps homeless people in England rebuild their lives away from the streets.
Our grants provide individual homeless people the financial support they need to make the next step in their lives.
And we fund projects that help build the skills and self-confidence that enable people to progress from the streets to a secure home of their own.
Your generosity in action
In February 2021 we awarded 84 personal grants to help homeless people rebuild their lives.
Liam was living in accommodation that was a danger to himself and his children. Full of damp and disrepair, he had nowhere to turn. CHT helped him and his family into his new home. ““I am so relieved I have a home that is affordable, in good condition and safe for my children. I can be proud of my home now.”
Thomas suffered a mental breakdown. Unable to care for himself, he was threatened with eviction. Now a year later and with support, he’s regained his independence and Church Homeless Trust supported him with a resettlement grant.
Jade’s traumatic teenage years lead her to a drug addiction and a toxic relationship. Now a mother of two, she is working hard to get clean for her children. Her new home didn’t have the basics to provide for them when they visit, however. CHT paid for a washing machine so she could wash their clothes when they visit.
Carl served his time in prison, but was released into homelessness. With no money, no job and no way to get one while sleeping rough, Carl was stuck in a vicious cycle. Thankfully, this time CHT could step in and help and help him into his own home. He’s now looking for work and feeling positive about the future.
