Rebuilding broken lives
We are a small charity that helps homeless people in England rebuild their lives away from the streets.
Our grants provide individual homeless people the financial support they need to make the next step in their lives.
And we fund projects that help build the skills and self-confidence that enable people to progress from the streets to a secure home of their own.
Your generosity in action
In August 2020 we awarded 56 personal grants to help homeless people rebuild their lives.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, Clare had to isolate herself in a room with nothing to keep her occupied. This lead to her anxiety and depression worsening. Church Homeless Trust paid for a TV and a radio to be installed in her room, which greatly improved her wellbeing.
Franklin was living abroad with his partner for 15 years when she sadly passed away. Not being able to afford to live their alone, he returned to Britain but had no where to live and ended up homeless. When he was placed in a home, we helped him furnish his new place and make it feel like a home.
Following years of abuse and abandonment by his mother, Craig turned to drugs and alcohol as a way to cope with his trauma. He ended up in psychiatric care at a young age, and eventually was left homeless. Craig was on and off the streets for 20 years. Now he’s got his own flat, we paid for several white goods including a dishwasher as a chronic condition affecting his hands makes it impossible for him to wash pots and pans in hot water.
