Your generosity in action
In August 2021 we awarded 108 personal grants to help homeless people rebuild their lives.
Graham‘s mental health never recovered from his experiences in the army. He had untreated PTSD, and it was ruining his life. He was self-medicating with drugs, and lost contact with his children.
Now he’s clean and starting over, CHT paid for clean clothes and toiletries for him, whilst he begins the journey to a home of his own.
Residents at one service received music therapy. Music therapy has been so important to these individuals, with many stating that it has helped raise their self-esteem and allow them to socialise with one another.
Christopher lost his job at the start of the pandemic. His unscrupulous boss had been paying him cash in hand, and so he had no protection when he was suddenly laid off.
Now living in a hostel, CHT purchased Christopher a passport – something he desperately needs to apply to new jobs.
Valerie was made homeless following an argument with her boyfriend. Her first night on the street, she was mugged. With no money, no phone and no friends nearby, she was forced to sleep on the street.
Now living in a shelter, Church Homeless Trust paid for a new phone, which she needs to claim benefits and apply to jobs.
Rebuilding broken lives
We are a small charity that helps homeless people in England rebuild their lives away from the streets.
Our grants provide individual homeless people the financial support they need to make the next step in their lives.
And we fund projects that help build the skills and self-confidence that enable people to progress from the streets to a secure home of their own.
