Table of buffet food

Hostel residents enjoy monthly events

Homeless people experience a lot of isolation and need encouragement and support to establish new relationships once in a hostel.

Church Homeless Trust has funded a series of events at Bolton House homelessness scheme to help the residents get to know one another.

A buffet is put on for one afternoon each month. Residents can enjoy food, speak to staff, and spend time together in a relaxed environment.

Each event is themed and also gives the residents opportunities to make some of the food together.

In August they held a BBQ; in September they had a charity baking afternoon; and in October there was a spooky Halloween fancy dress party.

In November there will be a pizza afternoon, where each resident will learn how to make and cook fresh pizzas for themselves.

Finally, they will hold a Christmas party in December. A member of staff said that they are all very grateful!
