This Christmas, there are far too many new faces on the streets. Many thousands of people have lost their jobs; often they have fallen into debt or rent arrears, and are relying on food banks to keep their heads above water. The difficulties of the coronavirus pandemic have cast many people into a position that they could not possibly have imagined this time last year.
At Church Homeless Trust, we’re doing everything we can to support people through these uncertain times.
Every week, we provide thousands of pounds in life-changing grants for those affected by homelessness across the country. Whether that’s funding for new clothes after months on the street, a rental deposit on a flat to get them started on a new life, or funding for furniture to make their new house a home. As we are a small charity (just six members of staff!) we know the names of every person we support, and we tailor every grant to the individual needs of that person.
This is a difficult time for charities across the country, and small charities like ours feel the impact most strongly. This year, we are asking for your help to keep supporting homeless people in their time of need.
Even a small donation can make all the difference in the world to someone with nothing.
Christmas can be a terrible, lonely time for homeless people. Many are isolated from friends and family and this has only worsened as the pandemic has made maintaining positive relationships even harder. To bring some much needed Christmas cheer, Church Homeless Trust are providing over 2000 homeless individuals with a Christmas Present this year.
Together, we can show a homeless person that they are not alone. Donate below to help us on our mission.
