Former Trust Chair wins award

February 2, 2018

We were pleased to hear that our recently retired Chair, Commander Bob Cribb, received an award.

Bob was recognised at the Churchill Awards for the over 65s, to honour his contribution towards improving housing provision for ex-Service personnel.

He served in the Royal Navy for 27 years as an Instructor Officer retiring in 1995 in the rank of Commander. He retired in 2010, and for many years now his personal mission has been to ensure appropriate housing provisions are made for veterans returning to civilian life. He was Chair of Church Housing Trust’s Board from 2015-18, and spent nine years on the Board in total.

The winners were announced at an exclusive lunchtime ceremony at the Mandarin Oriental, London on Thursday 1 February 2018.

Dame Esther Rantzen DBE, Churchill Ambassador and member of the Awards judging panel, said:

“I wholeheartedly congratulate the winners of these awards for providing us with such remarkable role models. They have all made a difference to the lives of millions of people over the past year, and this is a wonderful opportunity to showcase and celebrate their achievements. We will continue to be inspired by them and learn from them.”

Spencer McCarthy, Chairman & CEO of Churchill Retirement Living, added:

“It was a pleasure to welcome Bob to celebrate with us this year, and I would like to thank all our judges and everyone who has played a part in these awards, which continue to go from strength to strength.”
