Vince Pope records album for homeless people

May 3, 2019

Composer Vince Pope, who has won awards for his work on TV soundtracks such as Misfits, has decided to use his musical talents to support Church Homeless Trust.

Vince is recording original piano compositions in churches across north London in order to produce an album and raise a target of £1,000. Proceeds of the resulting album will also go to Church Homeless Trust.

The pianist is planning to hold a public recital at one of the churches to celebrate, and add to his fundraising total, in October or November.

Vince wanted a new creative project outside of work, and has previously volunteered with homelessness services in London.

He commented:

“The calm and spirituality of churches has always attracted me. I would often visit when no one was around and soak up the atmosphere. So it seemed natural to use this tranquillity and peace as inspiration.”

The composer said he loved getting the chance to play in some wonderful spaces.

“So far I’ve recorded at St John’s in Hampstead, St James’ in Muswell Hill, and St Mark’s in Regent’s Park.”

You can read more about the project and donate to Vince’s JustGiving page here, or of course buy a copy of the release later in the year.

Clips of the work in progress can be heard on his Instagram.

Vince is hoping to record in a number of other churches. If you know of a church that may be interested, please contact us at info@churchhomelesstrust.org.uk
