Indulge with us in one more look back at the difference you made to homeless families over Christmas.
Christmas may be a stressful time for many individuals, but for formerly homeless parents, there can be a huge amount of pressure to keep some of the magic alive for their children. This can be extremely difficult when you are in overcrowded, unsuitable accommodation.
They also may have very little money to buy presents for their children after bills and household basics have been covered. Your funding allowed for a little extra playtime, and some small presents, for the children and their parents over Christmas.
It can also be the chance for parents to get together while their kids are safely occupied! One scheme chose to take homeless families to the Play2Day centre in Martlesham.
The parents enjoyed this chance to socialise. The children loved running around and playing with all the toys and equipment available, and the support staff were told they all slept soundly that night.
Scheme staff were also able to buy a little present for each of the children, handed out by their very own Mother Christmas.
