CHT are thrilled to announce that – as of September 2021 – we are officially one of Riverside’s corporate charities.
To donate to CHT as a Riverside colleague, you can visit our partnership JustGiving page here.
Who are CHT?
CHT stands for Church Homeless Trust. We are a charity that provide individual, tailored grants to homeless individuals and services across England. We have been supporting homeless people to rebuild their lives for over a hundred years, and have been a registered charity since 1990.
Why should I support CHT?
CHT support thousands of homeless individuals to rebuild their lives every year. That could mean providing clothes and essentials to someone who has been street homeless for many years, or it could be paying for a new fridge-freezer for someone finally moving into a home of their own. We support so many individuals in Riverside services with bespoke grants, helping to change their lives for the better.
In August 2021, we provided £16,202 of funding to Riverside customers in need.
What makes CHT special?
CHT are a tiny charity (with just six full time members of staff!) and so we know the name of every individual that we donate to. We can listen to the stories of homeless individuals and offer bespoke grants to help get their lives on track, never treating people like they are just a number. We receive no funding from the government or the Church of England, and rely entirely on our supporters to keep changing lives.
What makes this partnership special?
Every penny donated by Riverside staff through the partnership JustGiving page will be spent directly on personal support grants, instead of on operating costs or expenses, so you know everything you raise for CHT is going to someone who really needs it.
Fundraising and News from Riverside
CHT has it’s first ambassador: Lee Bailey!
Church Homeless Trust would like to warmly welcome our first ambassador, Lee Bailey.
Lee Bailey is Volunteering Manager at Riverside Care and Support and has been an invaluable help to Church Homeless Trust over recent years, helping us to raise awareness and donations for homeless individuals despite the difficult circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are very excited to have him onboard as an ambassador!
3rd-11th October 2021 is World Homeless Week.
Wondering how your office or service can help raise money and awareness for homeless individuals? Look no further than hosting a CHTea!
CHTea asks that you and some friends or colleagues get together (physically or virtually) for some tea and cake. Simply donate what you can (we suggest the price of a cuppa) to CHT.
Let us know you’re taking part and we’ll send your service a CHTea teacup!
